It is with a heavy heart that we announce we are pulling the plug on our essay contest. We didn’t even come remotely close to our needed 1760 entries. I’m so very sorry. We did the best we could with marketing, advertising both on the radio, TV and social media but, it just was not enough.

After reading the essays, and seeing all the thought, effort & emotion you all put into the essays, I’m deeply devastated that we can’t give away the property. Please accept my heartfelt apology.

Your entry fee, minus the small payment processing fee by the bank (outlined in our rules and policies) will be refunded to you over the next 48 hours.

If you’re at all interested, we are putting it back on the market in approximately a week, at our bottom dollar price. Someone is going to be able to —-at the very least ——buy the duplex for what essentially would be 1990 prices! If you’d like to see the listing, you can look on Zillow, realtor.com or any of the other websites in about a week or so.
